Gilbert & Gaillard boasts thirty years’ experience in wine. Pascal Hébert, who heads up Rolling Box, our digital partner for the project, has the same experience in digital technology. The two combined are probably a world first for e-commerce.
Pascal Hébert explains why Gilbert & Gaillard’s project appealed to him: “My intention has always been to position my company as an associate for external digital marketing needs. Gilbert & Gaillard’s narrative was the same as mine: they wanted to work with an agency that offered more than just a service. We met and the project was launched after the summer break in 2016. The project aligns with our core strategy and allows us to apply our philosophy. The aim is to make things simple and streamlined for Gilbert & Gaillard and for users of their e-commerce platform”.
Aurélien Brugniau, internet project manager at Gilbert & Gaillard expounds further: “The solution we designed fulfils two needs – those of the wine growers who want to sell their wines at the right price, and those of consumers who need buying cues and simplicity. The wines retail at cellar door prices and all of them have been tasted by our expert panel. This is a huge advantage compared with existing websites”.
Pascal Hébert sums up: “E-commerce is booming, particularly when it comes to wine, but the solution has to be extremely user-friendly”.
